I do not think I have read on anything on this new Sundial that has struck me as "intellectually vigorous, emotionally resilient, and morally strong." It is an unfortunate artifact of a neoliberal fixation on optics over all else; the type of writing I would find in a high school newspaper defending Ben Shapiro because "all voices matter."

Student writing has been a beacon of independent news because it so often is allowed to be untied to corporate interests. So to see a group so dedicated to upholding establishment forces is disheartening to say the least.

Ironically, Obama's critique on militarist organizations would likely never be published in the new Sundial.

Dear William, as the founder of the new Sundial it deeply concerns me that you have not read anything intellectually rigorous. We have published nearly 100 articles since we began last spring, which includes many articles that could be considered anti-establishment as well as pro-establishment. In fact, some of our cover stories from the past few issues have been distinctly anti-establishment. Please point me to where specifically you believe our shortcomings are, and I will either direct you to writing we have published accounting for that or I will tell the editorial team that there is in fact a blind spot.
